Thank you for a most educational interview by Amb Bo Kjellen on the complex nature of the Climate negotiations from Bali to Copenhaghen. Amb Kjellen explains very clearly how sustainable development and climate change are intrinsically related. Developed countries will hopefully find it in their own enlighted interest to assist poor countries on their needs for adaptation and development, most immediately the full implementation of the MDGs. But leaders must first embrace the notion that finding an effective solution to climate change and sustainable development requires a new diplomatic vivion that is able to trascend more narrow national interests, and we still lack the appropriate Intitutions of global governance capable of effectively tackling the new global challenges of the XXI Century.
